What if I need to cancel my appointment?
We have reserved time especially for you; therefore, we require a 24 hour minimum cancellation notice to avoid being charged for your services as scheduled. Repeated no-shows, cancellations and large groups may require credit card pre-payments to reserve time.
How early should I arrive for my appointment?
We recommend that you arrive 10-15 minutes in advance of your appointment to ensure a relaxing experience and to fill out any necessary personal information. Arriving late for your appointment may require us to shorten the length of your service or reschedule your appointment to another time or with another stylist as a courtesy to our next guest. Additionally, we will not be able to offer you a complimentary Sensory Experience.
Do you offer a satisfaction guarantee?

Why is there a difference in service prices?
All of our stylists receive advanced education on a continuous basis. We have technical levels to help you choose based on professional experience, education and client demand.
Level 1 – Stylists that have successfully completed our intense assistant training program, have at least 1.5+ years experience, have passed our technical cut and color exams and attend 1-2 advanced technical classes a month.
Level 2 – Stylists with 2 – 5+ years of experience, all of the above training and continue to attend advanced training classes every other month.
Level 3 – Stylists with at least 4+ years of experience, all of the above and continue to attend advanced training classes every other month. Most have also attended Wella’s Master Colorist Program and Bumble & Bumble’s Design Workshop.
Level 4+ – Stylists with at least 5-8+ years, all of the above advanced education and the greatest level of client demand.
Additionally, many of our stylists have attended Bumble & Bumble’s advanced academy in NYC and have completed Wella’s Master Colorist Certification. See individual bios for specialty training and skills.
What about gratuities?
Gratuities are not included in the price of our services, treatment packages or gift certificates.
What about payment for services?
We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, Traveler’s Cheques, cash or The Loft Hair Design gift certificates.
Can I exchange my gift card for cash?
For your gift giving convenience, we offer refillable gift cards for any dollar amount. Gift cards are redeemable for goods and services only. No cash or charge refunds will be given.
What if I want to change stylists?
As professionals we recognize the need for change from time to time. Our goal is that you, the guest, be completely satisfied and sometimes that means a different stylist. We will help you find the right fit and we will gladly share information with each other to better serve you.
Will you give me my haircolor formula?
We are happy to share our formulas with our Loft teammates at anytime. We strive to provide you with a superior experience, both technical and service through our stringent assistant education and ongoing advanced classes. Therefore, our formulas are proprietary information and we aren’t willing to share our secrets (if we did, we’d have to kill you!).
Why should I pre-book my next appointment?
To ensure your desired appointment date and time, we recommend that you reserve your next service prior to leaving the salon. We provide a courtesy call two days prior to your appointment with any necessary scheduling adjustments being made at that time.
Can I bring my children/pets with me?
In an effort to provide all of our guests with an exceptional experience and for the safety of your little loved ones, children under twelve are welcome only if they have an appointment for services. Due to industry health and safety codes, your furry loved ones must also be left at home. Service animals are always welcome.
Can I have my cell phone?
To maintain a relaxing environment for all our guests, we ask that you keep your cell phone on vibrate during your visit to The Loft.
What do I wear during my salon service or spa treatment?
Most body treatments are enjoyed without clothing. Undergarments may be worn if preferred. In the salon, we will happily provide you with a wrap to preserve your clothing from colour and stray hair. Most importantly, wear what is comfortable to you.
What if I have special health considerations?
Please notify our Front Desk Team member or your service provider if you have high blood pressure, allergies, or other physical ailments or disabilities that we may need to make special concessions for. All spa guests will be asked to complete a brief medical questionnaire upon check-in, designed with your well being in mind.
What about my jewelry and valuables?
The Loft cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items. Please leave your valuables at home or carry them with you when you are in the salon.
Where should I park?
Unlimited street parking is available on Valley Parkway and 2nd Ave. Unlimited parking is also available in the city lot behind the salon and two hour parking is available on all other surface streets surrounding the salon including Grand Ave. Currently, it is a $45 ticket if you exceed the time limits. We are happy to move your car as necessary to accommodate your service appointment.
Great Lengths Hair Extensions FAQs
What are hair extensions?
Hair extensions are a means of adding more hair to your own. Hair extensions can be used to add overall length, volume, as well as to change the shape of a hair cut or lengthen bangs. They can also be used for highlights or for creative fashion colors and effects. Extensions can be used in some instances, to cover scars or alopecia.
How are they attached?
Great Lengths hair extensions are attached using a technique called modulating. Great Lengths uses a patented polymer/ protein bond whose molecular structure is very similar to that of human hair. It is activated by our Great Lengths applicator and bonds the Great Lengths strand with your own hair. These bonds are easily removed by an expert.
Where does the hair come from?
Great Lengths hair is 100% human hair of the highest quality. This is Indian Temple hair which is in virgin condition. This hair is of extra ordinary quality since it has never been exposed to chemical treatments. Great Lengths utilizes only remy hair which means that the cuticle layers are all facing the same direction from root to end and therefore, do not tangle. This hair will behave exactly like your own, blending in beautifully with your own hair to look super natural.
How long will they last?
The average time Great Lengths will stay in your hair is about 3-5 months. This will depend on your hairs natural rate of growth, as well as density, and how well the extensions are maintained.
Will they damage my hair?
No, as long as you follow the home care maintenance sheet provided during the service, and have them removed professionally you will not have any damage to your natural hair. You may notice loose hairs attached to the bonds several weeks after application which is the result of natural shedding. The extended hair will still be attached because it is bonded to other hairs in that area. Consult your stylist if you have chemically straightened or permed hair or if you are currently experiencing breakage or hair loss.
Can I treat hair extensions like my own hair?
Yes. They can be washed, blown out, curled, flat ironed, and styled as you would your own hair. It is recommended that you use only professional products. Have your hair colored, permed, or chemically straightened only by a professional; do not chemically process the extensions your self. You will go over a Home Care Maintenance Sheet with your stylist at the consultation, and you will be given a copy to take home as well.
Why do I need a consultation?
A consultation is a very important part of adding hair extensions to your hair. At the 45 minute consultation density, color, length and desired style are considered. The price will be determined based on the overall look you are trying to achieve. Extensions are a highly customized service; your consultation time is reserved especially for you. There is a $45 charge for the consultation which will be applied towards the cost of your extensions should you decide to proceed with this service. If you must cancel your consultation appointment please do so 48 hours in advance; time will be booked out for you and may not be able to be filled at the last minute. Your stylist will also go over a questionnaire, the home care maintenance sheet, a deposit agreement, and a waiver and indemnity sheet. Please come to the consultation with any questions you may have regarding this service which is not covered on this FAQ sheet.
How long after the consultation can the extensions be applied?
That largely depends on how booked out the stylist is. Generally an appointment can be booked within a week, to a few weeks. Overnight shipping is available although in most cases the hair is delivered in as little as two days. Please allow extra time for preparation of the hair if any customization such as coloring, pre- blending, or perming is necessary. If you will need your natural hair colored, permed or chemically straightened before the application of Great Lengths your stylist will explain to you the time parameters necessary between these services. If you change the color or texture of your natural hair between the time of the consultation and application of Great Lengths a new consultation will be necessary.
What if my natural hair is colored, permed or chemically straightened?
During the consultation the extensions will be matched as necessary to your natural hair. Extensions can be permed or colored by your stylist before they are applied to your hair. Great Lengths come in many colors, and as many colors as necessary can be used to achieve the desired result. It is not recommended that you perm, chemically straighten or color the extensions or your own hair yourself while you are wearing them.
How much do extensions cost?
The cost of extensions varies greatly dependant upon the desired overall look. They can cost any where from $10-$25 per strand for a few colorful streaks or Swarovski crystal strands to add sparkle for a special occasion, to a few hundred for highlights or zonal volume, to an average of $1,600- $4000 for a full head lengthening.
